Barcelona will reportedly look to sign Youri Tielemans in a Bosman move if he leaves Premier League club Leicester City.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Youri Tielemans is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants have a shortlist of targets to pursue for Bosman moves in the summer transfer window. And the 25-year-old Leicester City midfielder is one of the candidates on their radar.
Youri Tielemans was one of the most highly-rated midfield prospects in the world during his stint with Anderlecht. The Belgian international even became the Anderlecht captain before joining AS Monaco. But the spell with the Ligue 1 outfit did not work, and he found a stable footing after moving to Leicester City. Since then, he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old has turned out nearly 200 times for Leicester, chipping in with 28 goals and 25 assists. But the Foxes are in a spot of bother over Tielemans’s long-term future as he is in the final months of his contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of several clubs, including Barcelona.
Barcelona’s financial woes are showing no signs of ending. And their European ouster has made things worse, as they have lost crucial revenue following the defeat to Manchester United. So the Blaugrana will need to resort to the free-agent market to bolster the squad in the summer transfer window.
