Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Yassine Bounou from Sevilla in the summer to replace Hugo Lloris.

According to a report by Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Yassine Bounou. The 31-year-old goalkeeper has been in outstanding form of late. And Antonio Conte is desperate to land him at the club ahead of next season.

Yassine Bounou, better known as Bono, had a sensational FIFA World Cup campaign. The Moroccan shot-stopper was on fire in the mega-event. He played an important part in helping his team become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.

The Sevilla shot-stopper has been a consistent performer for both club and country. He joined the Spanish outfit permanently back in the summer of 2020 from Girona. Ever since his arrival at the club, he has been one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga.

The 31-year-old has made a total of 130 appearances for the club and has 57 clean sheets to his name. In the ongoing season, he has featured in 26 matches and has managed to keep a clean sheet on six occasions.

Bono is amongst the best goalkeepers in La Liga. And interest in his services from across Europe is nothing new. But, this time around Sevilla might look to offload him because they already have a capable replacement in Marko Dmitrović.

Meanwhile, the Moroccan international’s departure will bring in a decent amount that can be used to add more quality in other parts of the field. With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, it looks like the right time to cash in on him.

Tottenham Hotspur have been interested in his services for a while now. Antonio Conte is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to replace Hugo Lloris. The Frenchman has been a part of the Spurs setup for over a decade now. But it looks like his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is up.

Meanwhile, Lloris has not been able to produce consistent performances. His errors are leading to goals, and it is turning into a big headache for Conte. The Tottenham boss wants to sort that by bringing Bono to the club. But it might depend on where they finish in the Premier League season. If they fail to qualify for the Champions League, Spurs might find it difficult to convince him.

And, they will also face competition from Manchester United, who have been keen on the Sevilla shot-stopper for a while. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can manage to sign him ahead of next season.
