Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer Bryan Gil plus cash for the signature of 31-year-old Yassine Bounou.

According to a report by La Razon, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to use Bryan Gil to reduce the price of Yassine Bounou. Spurs are desperate to sign a goalkeeper in the summer of 2023 and they have identified Sevilla’s number one as a primary target.

Bounou came into the limelight after his heroics in the FIFA World Cup 2022. He played a vital role in helping Morrocco create history on the world stage. They became the first African nation to feature in the World Cup semi-final. A lot of it was down to their shot-stopper who was sensational throughout the tournament.

The 31-year-old joined Sevilla from Girona back in the summer of 2020. Ever since his arrival, he has been a regular in the XI. During his time at the club, he has featured in over 120 matches and has over 50 clean sheets.

The Moroccan keeper has been amongst the best shot-stoppers in La Liga for the past few years. His current contract at the club ends in the summer of 2025. And, a lot of clubs are interested in acquiring his services.

Spurs are looking to sign a goalkeeper in the summer. They are in search of a player who can eventually replace Hugo Lloris in goal. The French international is already 36 and his contract at the club ends in the summer of 2024. With only 18 months left on his contract, it makes perfect sense that Antonio Conte is looking at possible options for the future.

Conte is interested in bringing Morroco’s World Cup star Yassine Bounou to the club. He believes the Sevilla shot-stopper can be an ideal replacement for Hugo Lloris who is currently out injured.

Meanwhile, Bounou has a €50 million release clause in his contract. But, Spurs are not willing to pay the entire amount. They are ready to offer Bryan Gil in order to reduce the asking price and reach an agreement with the club without triggering the release clause.

The 22-year-old winger is currently on loan at Sevilla. However, he is set to return to Tottenham in the summer of 2023. Spurs signed Gil from Sevilla back in 2021 and are willing to let him return to his old club on a permanent basis to strike a deal for the Morrocan goalkeeper.

Manchester United are also interested in the Sevilla goalkeeper. They are ready to push for him in the summer. As a result, it will be interesting to see if the London-based club manages to seal the deal for Bounou.
