Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.
According to a report from Fichajes, Nico Williams could be on his way out of Athletic Club at the end of the season. And Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are keeping tabs on the situation of the emerging Spanish winger.
The 20-year-old is highly rated around Europe and is regarded as one of the most promising young talents to have come out of Spain in recent years. So it is not surprising that Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are interested.
It Is no secret that Liverpool need to add more depth to their attack. And Williams could prove to be a quality long-term investment. The Reds have just two natural wingers at their disposal, and they have had to field makeshift players in the wide areas during rotation and injuries. Williams would certainly solve that problem for Jurgen Klopp next season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could see players like Anthony Martial move on at the end of the season in search of regular game time. And Erik ten Hag will need to add more depth to his side. Williams could be the ideal long-term addition to the Red Devils. It is a similar case with Real Madrid, who might look to cash in on fringe players like Eden Hazard.
Carlo Ancelotti needs more options at his disposal, and the 20-year-old Spanish winger could be tempted to move to Santiago Bernabeu. Staying in Spain might be a more attractive proposition for the youngster as compared to a move to the Premier League.
Furthermore, Real Madrid are widely regarded as the biggest club in the world. And working with a manager like Ancelotti could help the youngster develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential.
The 20-year-old has a contract with Athletic Club until the summer of 2024. And the Basque outfit will be under pressure to consider a potential sale unless he decides to renew his deal with them. Williams has seven goals and six assists to his name this season and would improve all three clubs if he joined them. The player has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea as well.
