Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona prospect Ansu Fati, whose market value is €50 million.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ansu Fati is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Spanish prospect, whose market value is €50 million, is the latest Barcelona ace to have popped up on the radar of the Bundesliga champions.

Ansu Fati has endured a rollercoaster ride in his short professional career thus far. The 20-year-old joined Barcelona’s famed academy La Masia over a decade ago before rapidly rising through the ranks. And in August 2019, he became the second-youngest player to debut for the Blaugrana. That is when comparisons with Lionel Messi began.

It seemed for a long time that Fati would fulfil the prophecy, especially after Messi shockingly left Barcelona in 2021. But a spate of injuries has stunted the Spanish international’s progress, and he is yet to regain his former levels. The youngster has also seen his market value fall to €50 million. But that has not detracted prospective suitors, one of those being Bayern Munich.

Julian Nagelsmann currently has four world-class wide attackers at his disposal after the arrival of Sadio Mane. The Senegalese international has joined Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman in the offensive unit at Bayern Munich. But the Bundesliga champions remain keen on signing another attacker in the summer.

The Bavarian giants have shown interest in several forwards, including Kai Havertz. And Ansu Fati is also a viable target for Bayern Munich. Like many of Bayern’s current players, the Barcelona prospect is versatile and can reprise various roles in the final third.

The report does not mention whether the Bundesliga champions are preparing an offer to sign the 20-year-old. And while his market value has fallen to €50 million, his release clause, worth €1 billion complicates matters. In addition, the Barcelona attacker is a target for several Premier League clubs.

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham are among Ansu Fati’s prospective suitors. But Bayern Munich will guarantee silverware year after year, making the Allianz Arena an attractive destination. But it is unclear if the Spanish international even wants to leave Barcelona anytime soon.
