Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Bayern Munich interested.

According to Media Foot, Kai Havertz could be on his way out of Chelsea at the end of the season. And German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on securing his services in the summer.

The 23-year-old has not been able to live up to the expectations since his big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen. And it remains to be seen whether Chelsea are prepared to cut their losses on him.

The German International did score a very important goal for Chelsea to win the UEFA Champions League back in 2020/21. But overall, he has been an underwhelming acquisition for the Premier League giants.

When Havertz moved to Chelsea, he was regarded as a world-class prospect destined to be the next superstar. However, things have not worked out for him so far. Deployed mostly as a striker, the youngster has struggled to influence the proceedings consistently in the final third. And the Blues have had to invest in a number of attackers ever since his arrival.

Even then, Chelsea have looked toothless in the final third this season. And they have recently splashed out on the lights of Joao Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk. It will be interesting to see if the two players can help Chelsea finish the season strongly and secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Havertz could look to get his career back on track with the move back to Germany. Bayern Munich could definitely use more attacking reinforcements and the 23-year-old would be a superb long-term acquisition.

The German international is undoubtedly a top-class talent, and he is still young enough to improve and fulfil his potential. The Blues paid around £71 million to secure his services, and they will likely demand a premium if Bayern Munich comes calling in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether the German champions are prepared to break the bank for him. Chelsea should look to reinvest the money in a specialist striker who can score goals consistently and help them challenge for the major trophies once again. Meanwhile, they might also have a like-for-like replacement in Christopher Nkunku, who will join them in the summer.
