Liverpool battle Barcelona, Real Madrid for N’Golo Kante

Liverpool have reportedly joined Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is on the radar of Liverpool. And the Reds will face competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid for the 31-year-old.

The French international midfielder will be out of contract in the summer. And Chelsea have not agreed on a contract extension for the player yet. The French midfielder will be available on a free transfer, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can secure his services.

Kante has proven himself in the Premier League with Leicester City and Chelsea. He has won multiple Premier League titles with the two clubs. And the veteran could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Liverpool on a short-term deal.

The Reds definitely need to add more quality and depth to their midfield. And the Chelsea midfielder seems like an ideal addition on a free transfer. That is because Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has not been at his best. And Liverpool could definitely use more cover in that position.

It will be interesting to see if they can fend off competition from the two Spanish giants and secure the World Cup winner’s services. In addition, Liverpool can hand a blow to Chelsea by landing the veteran midfielder

Meanwhile, Real Madrid need to add more depth to their midfield after the departure of Casemiro. And Kante has emerged as a viable target. Similarly, Barcelona need to bring in a quality defensive midfielder, especially with Sergio Busquets expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see if Kante is willing to try out a new challenge having proven himself in the Premier League over the years. Recent reports have claimed that Kante is pushing Barcelona to make a move for him.

The Frenchman has had a number of injury problems this season and will hope to get over his persistent injury issues and get his career back on track once again. The opportunity to join clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid could be attractive to the Chelsea veteran. Despite the fact that he is in his thirties, Kante has the quality to play at the highest level. And signing him will be quite a coup on a free transfer.
