Barcelona will reportedly compete with Manchester United and Bayern Munich for Japanese playmaker Daichi Kamada in the summer.

According to a report by Fussball Transfers, Daichi Kamada will be a popular figure in the market in the summer transfer window. Barcelona, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich will be among his suitors if he leaves Eintracht Frankfurt.

Daichi Kamada has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt. The 26-year-old took some time to get going, with a loan stint with Sint-Truiden helping his progress. And he has been a pivotal figure for Die Adler for a few years.

The Japanese international has enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season thus far, amassing 12 goals and five assists in 25 appearances. But Kamada will likely leave Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent in the summer transfer window. Such a situation has captured the attention of Barcelona, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.

Kamada has been on Barcelona’s radar for a few months. And with the player capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder, he is a viable target for the Blaugrana. Recent reports also claimed that Barcelona contacted Eintracht Frankfurt to learn about his situation. And his potential free-agent status makes him an attractive option for the Catalan outfit.

Meanwhile, Manchester United made a late attempt to sign Kamada in the January transfer window. The interest from the Red Devils came after Christian Eriksen sustained a long-term ankle injury. Manchester United eventually signed Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich. But they remain interested in signing Kamada in the summer.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will also attempt to sign the 26-year-old in a Bosman move in the summer. Thomas Muller is well into his thirties and closing in on the final days of his career. So the Bundesliga champions need to lay down a succession plan for the German international. And Kamada is an option worth considering.

Apart from Barcelona, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the Japanese playmaker. And it will be interesting to see where he plies his trade after leaving Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
