Manchester United and Arsenal are set to indulge in a transfer battle for Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United and Arsenal will battle it out for the transfer of Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique. The Brazilian winger has emerged as one of the players in La Liga this season.

Arsenal lost the race for Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, as the Blues facilitated a move on an urgent basis to bring the Ukrainian winger at Stamford Bridge. They reportedly paid a whopping £88.5 million transfer fee to snatch an audacious transfer for the 22-year-old.

The Gunners will shift their focus to alternatives, and Henrique could emerge as the likeliest option for them. The youngster fancied some bold moves against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup recently, providing the assist for both goals for Betis.

His team eventually crashed out of the competition following a penalty shootout defeat. But interested parties have taken note of his talent. He is yet to produce something big as he has only managed three goals and five assists so far in all competitions.

Manchester United have already made their first big January signing, bringing in Wout Weghorst on a loan deal for the rest of the season. But they are not expected to be busy in the remaining period of the transfer window.

Funds have been difficult to raise, as Manchester United have been operating on a tight budget. Only loan deals are supposed to be their bedrock in this transfer window as their summer spend has forced their hands.

Anthony Elanga has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, as a number of clubs, including Everton, remain interested in the player. The Swedish winger might leave the club soon. And in that case, the Red Devils could seeking another wide player to fill the vacant berth.

Henrique joined Real Betis in the summer and signed a six-year deal with the club. The Andalusian outfit won’t be worried about the Brazilian winger’s imminent future, as they hold all the cards in his transfer as it stands. But the lure of playing in the Premier League could prove to be a real obstacle in their plans. And Betis could be forced to cash in on their prized asset.
