Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is reportedly all set to leave the Premier League club at the end of the season.

As per Football Insider, Naby Keita will be a free agent in June. And Liverpool have decided not to extend the contract of the 27-year-old midfielder.

The Guinean international joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2018 for a fee of £52.7 million. But he has been a major disappointment because of his persistent injury problems. Although there is no doubt that Keita is a quality player when he is fit, his availability issues have plagued his career at Anfield.

Apparently, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was keen on handing the player an extension this month. But the Reds wanted him to accept a pay cut in order to stay at the club. Keita is unwilling to lower his wages will likely be allowed to leave the club as a free agent.

Keita has impressed during a handful of appearances at Liverpool since joining the club, and he has the potential to be a top-class player for most clubs. It remains to be seen whether he can get over his persistent injury problems in the coming seasons.

The player has been linked with a move back to Germany, while AC Milan have also shown interest in him. And it remains to be seen which club will provide him with an exit route. As for Liverpool, they are expected to invest heavily in a number of central midfielders in the summer.

Along with Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are set to leave the club as free agents as well. Furthermore, key players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have struggled to hit top form this season.

The Reds have been linked with players like Jude Bellingham in recent weeks. And it will be interesting to see if they can sign in the Borussia Dortmund star at the end of the season. It has been a disappointing campaign for Liverpool so far, and they are struggling to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.

As for Keita, the player has managed to recover from his injury problems this season. And it will be interesting to see if he can stay fit and help Liverpool finish the season strongly. The midfielder has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool have had major concerns in the middle of the park since the start of the season. And if Keita can stay fit in the coming months, the Reds would certainly benefit from his availability and improve on their recent performances.
