La Liga champions Real Madrid are not working on a deal to bring 29-year-old Tottenham striker Harry Kane to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Harry Kane will unlikely join Real Madrid this year. The reigning La Liga champions are not working on a deal to sign the Tottenham ace. But the 29-year-old striker remains a target for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Romano said, “Real Madrid are not working on Harry Kane as things stand. We know Bayern Munich appreciate him but at the moment there’s been no contact with Tottenham. I’m sure Antonio Conte’s future will be crucial to understand Kane’s future too and how conversations on his new deal will go.”

Harry Kane has been one of the best players in the Premier League since breaking into the first-team squad at Tottenham. The 29-year-old took some time to establish a foothold at the north London club. But he has been the leading light for Tottenham in the last half a dozen years.

The English international has been in fine form in the ongoing season. Kane has 17 goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions thus far. But with Tottenham struggling to win trophies, the player might look to embark on a new adventure in the summer. And recent reports had linked the England captain with Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema has struggled with fitness issues thus far this season. And while he remains in top form, Real Madrid will need an alternative for the Frenchman in the coming campaign. With Endrick not arriving before July 2024, the Merengues need to have two viable options to lead the line.

Kane had thus reportedly emerged as a top target for Real Madrid. And the 29-year-old might have been a solid addition to the Real Madrid squad. But Fabrizio Romano has suggested that the reigning La Liga champions are not working on a deal to sign the Tottenham striker.

However, the English international remains a target for Bayern Munich. And the Bundesliga champions might look to launch the offensive for Kane in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see if the experienced striker leaves Tottenham ahead of the 2023/24 season.
