Chelsea set to make move for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, a target for Liverpool.

According to a report from The Guardian, Chelsea have turned their attention towards the Ecuador international Moises Caicedo after failing to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. The Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder is also a target for Liverpool.

The Blues were reportedly keen on signing the Argentine international this month but they have failed to agree on a deal with Benfica. Apparently, the Portuguese outfit are holding out for €120 million for the 21-year-old central midfielder, and the Blues are unwilling to accept their demands.

Caicedo has played under Graham Potter during their time together at Brighton. So it is no surprise that the Chelsea manager is looking for a reunion. Potter signed the 21-year-old for Brighton and nurtured him into one of the most exciting midfield talents in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether the Blues can convince Brighton to sell the player this month.

Caicedo has established himself as a key player for Brighton and could prove to be a sensational long-term signing for Chelsea. The Blues could lose players like Jorginho and N’Golo Kante at the end of the season, and they will need to bring in adequate replacements.
