Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign 20-year-old English attacker Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven this month.

A report from football.london claims that Chelsea are hoping to sign Noni Madueke as their fifth January signing. And the Blues have already opened talks with PSV Eindhoven for the 20-year-old English winger.

The 20-year-old PSV Eindhoven attacker could be Chelsea’s third attacking signing this month after Joao Felix and David Fofana. It remains to be seen whether the Blues can secure an agreement with the Dutch outfit. PSV have already sold Cody Gakpo this month to Liverpool, and it will be surprising if they decide to weaken their attack further with the sale of Madueke.

Chelsea are in need of quality attackers, and Madueke has emerged as a viable target for them. The 20-year-old can play on both flanks, and Graham Potter could certainly use his pace and flair in the wide areas.

Chelsea wingers Raheem Sterling, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic have been largely unconvincing this season. So it makes sense for them to dip into the transfer market to address those concerns.

The Blues will be desperate to secure a top-four finish after a dismal campaign so far. And they need January signings to lift the spirits around the club and improve them. Felix seemed quite lively on his debut against Fulham, despite his dismissal. Potter will be hoping Madueke can make a similar impact if he joins the west London club.

The chance to return to England could be a tempting proposition for the talented young winger, and a move to Chelsea would be a step up in his career. Playing alongside top players in the Premier League could accelerate his development. Also, Potter could play a key role in his development. The Chelsea manager helped nurture young players during his time at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The only issue for the Blues would be convincing PSV Eindhoven to part with the 20-year-old this month. That said, Chelsea have the financial muscle to tempt PSV. If they can agree to terms with Madueke, a move could definitely be on the card this month.
