Newcastle United have submitted a lucrative offer to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko on a free transfer.

As reported by 90min, Borussia Dortmund sensation Youssoufa Moukoko could be on his way to the Premier League as Newcastle United are believed to be one the most interested parties.

The prodigy has burst into the scene this season and his displays haven’t gone unnoticed as a number of clubs are circling around for his services. A new contract offer has already been tabled by Dortmund but the player’s demand is yet to be at par with the club’s offer.

The teenager is looking for a contract worth €200,000 per week but the German side feel that €100,000 per week would be ideal for the youngster to put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

It has become increasingly difficult to extend his current contract and most likely the Dortmund academy product will leave the club on a free transfer unless there are some last-minute adjustments.

Newcastle want to take advantage of this situation and have joined the bandwagon to sign the player. With their recent takeover, they now possess adequate financial muscle and shouldn’t have any issues in dealing with  Moukoko’s wage demands.

The Magpies have taken significant steps as a part of their rebuilding strategy and having Moukoko will further increase their chances of doing well in the top flight. Liverpool and Chelsea have also enquired about the player’s availability but Newcastle are leading the race.

Liverpool recently brought in Cody Gakpo while Chelsea are on the verge of completing an agreement for Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid which will likely allow Newcastle a free run at the player.

They will also offer a sign-on bonus on top of the deal and several other bonuses could be introduced to entice the player to England. Any possibilities of preponing the deal to January could happen as Dortmund would demand a meagre fee to part ways with the player.

Moukoko also had a brief cameo appearance for Germany in the World Cup and he is expected to take up the mantle in years to come. Dortmund lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City last summer and Jude Bellingham will also be the subject of interest next summer.
