Newcastle United are reportedly dreaming about signing 23-year-old French internatinal Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to a report from BILD, Newcastle United are keen on signing Moussa Diaby, and they failed with a move for him at the start of the season. They are now dreaming of signing the French winger at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old is certainly one of the most exciting attacking prospects in the Bundesliga, and he has been in fine form for Bayer Leverkusen this season. The French winger has eight goals and four assists to his name across all competition. And he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the Magpies.

Eddie Howe is looking to add more quality and depth to his attack. And the 23-year-old seems like an ideal fit for Newcastle United. Meanwhile, the player is on Liverpool’s radar as well.

Diaby’s style of play should help him fit into the Premier League seamlessly, and he could be a key player for Newcastle next season. It is highly unlikely that the German outfit will sanction his departure this month. So it is fair to assume that Newcastle will have to wait until the summer transfer window to stand any chance of signing him.

The Magpies failed to sign Diaby in the summer transfer window. But they could be in a better position to lure the 23-year-old French international at the end of the season. They are currently in the top four. And securing UEFA Champions League qualification could help them lure elite talents in the summer.

Furthermore, Newcastle are one of the richest clubs in the world and have no shortage of resources. Therefore, convincing the German club should not be a problem for them. They could also offer a lucrative package to the winger. And the interest in Diaby makes sense.

The Magpies have quality attackers like Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, and Alexander Isak. But they will need to add more quality to the squad to challenge for the major trophies and compete with clubs like Manchester City in the coming seasons.

Diaby has all the tools to develop into a world-class winger, and Newcastle must do everything in their power to lure him to St. James’ Park. The Premier League could be the ideal next step in his career. And it remains to be seen if the 23-year-old French international is keen on a new adventure at the end of the season.
