Barcelona will reportedly demand up to €50 million to sell underperforming Spanish international Ferran Torres in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ferran Torres might leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window. And the Blaugrana will demand between €40 million and €50 million to part ways with the underperforming Spanish international.

Ferran Torres spent his formative years with Valencia, joining Los Che as a six-year-old. The young Spaniard progressed through the ranks at the Spanish club before becoming a first-team regular. But he left Valencia for a new adventure in his career by joining Manchester City in August 2020.

The 22-year-old made swift progress at Manchester City but ended his stint prematurely in January last year when Barcelona came calling. However, Torres has blown hot and cold since moving to Spotify Camp Nou twelve months ago. And the underperforming Spanish international faces an uncertain future at the Catalan club.

Torres has not had a poor season by any stretch, amassing five goals and one assist in 779 minutes of game time. But with Barcelona in financial peril, something will have to give when the summer transfer window opens in July. And the Spaniard might face the axe at the end of the season.

Barcelona will likely lose Memphis Depay this year, with a January exit on the cards amid interest from Premier League clubs. But the Catalan giants are also considering selling Torres soon. And Barcelona will demand between €40 million and €50 million while selling the underperforming Spanish international.

The asking price is lower than the sum Barcelona paid to sign the 22-year-old. But with Torres not setting the stage alight with his performance, it is unsurprising that the Blaugrana will take a hit while selling him. However, Barcelona will not have a shortage of suitors for the Spaniard, with Arsenal and Tottenham showing interest in him.

It is unclear if the two Premier League clubs – or any other suitor – will shell out €50 million for the underperforming Spanish international. Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha has emerged as a candidate to replace Torres in the summer transfer window.
