La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly mulling over a Bosman move for 30-year-old Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Wilfried Zaha is the subject of interest from FC Barcelona. The Catalan giants view the 30-year-old attacker as a replacement for Ferran Torres. And Zaha might leave Premier League Crystal Palace as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

Wilfried Zaha has carved a lasting legacy in his two stints with Crystal Palace. The Ivory Coast international is arguably the greatest player in the south London club’s history. And he has been a talismanic figure throughout his spells with the Eagles.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a solid 2022/23 season thus far, amassing six goals and two assists in 15 appearances. But Zaha’s contract situation has left Crystal Palace in a spot of bother as he has entered the last six months of his deal. And the player might leave Premier League altogether, with Barcelona interested in him.

Barcelona will look to the Bosman market to bolster the squad in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants remain in financial peril and cannot afford to splurge on players like they did a few months ago. So several soon-to-be-free agents have emerged on Barcelona’s radar in the last few weeks.

Zaha is also a viable target for Barcelona amid uncertainties surrounding Ferran Torres’s Barcelona future. The Catalan giants are considering selling the underperforming Spanish international. And Zaha is an option worth considering, as he is also versatile like Torres and can play across the frontline.

The 30-year-old’s directness can potentially add a layer to Barcelona’s offensive output. But Barcelona will likely face intense competition for the player’s signature. That is because Premier League bigwigs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are also eyeing a Bosman move for Zaha.

All three Premier League clubs can offer Zaha a more lucrative contract than Barcelona. But the prospect of representing the Blaugrana remains attractive. And it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can beat Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and others to the signature of the 30-year-old. Meanwhile, Patrick Vieira will continue to scramble for the player’s extended stay at Selhurst Park.
