Tottenham have reportedly submitted a bid worth €15 million to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi from Serie A club Atalanta.

According to a report from Corriere Di Bergamo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham have offered €15 million for versatile Atalanta attacker Ruslan Malinovskyi. And it remains to be seen whether the Serie A outfit are prepared to accept the offer.

The 29-year-old was linked with a move to Tottenham at the start of the season as well. But the two clubs could not agree on a deal and the Ukrainian midfielder ended up staying. It appears that Antonio Conte remains keen on signing the 29-year-old in January, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can agree on a fee with Atalanta now.

Malinovskyi has been an important player for the Serie A club since joining them, and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Tottenham squad. The 29-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now and he will be expected to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

He will add goals and creativity from the centre of the park. His signing will add a new dimension to the Tottenham gameplay. The Premier League club have impressive players at their disposal. But there is a distinct lack of creativity and goals in their current midfield.

Malinovskyi would be an inexpensive addition to Tottenham, and it remains to be seen whether he can settle into English football quickly, and make an immediate impact. Spurs are currently fighting for a place in the top four, and they will need to improve their squad during the January transfer window.

The Atalanta ace would certainly be a smart acquisition for them, and if they can sign him for the reported €15 million price, the deal could look like a bargain in the long run. Recent reports have suggested that they are edging closer to landing the versatile attacker.

Apart from a quality attacking midfielder, Tottenham should look to improve their defensive options as well. Conte could use a top-class full-back, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring someone in next month. The Italian manager will be hoping to end Tottenham’s trophy drought this season, and it might depend on how the January window unfolds.
