Tottenham will reportedly need to fork out €15 million to sign versatile Ukrainian attacker Ruslan Malinovskyi from Serie A club Atalanta.
According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Ruslan Malinovskyi will be available for a fee of around €15 million. And Atalanta are prepared to cash in on the Ukrainian international amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.
Malinovskyi will be a free agent at the end of the season, and it makes sense for the Serie A club to cash in on him during the January transfer window. They will not want to lose a player as a free agent, and they are not keen on agreeing on a contract extension with him either.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to add more quality and depth in the final third. And bringing in a quality attacking midfielder could improve them substantially. So the interest in Malinovskyi makes sense.
The north Londoners were linked with a number of attacking midfielders during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Nicolo Zaniolo and Christian Eriksen emerging on their radar. However, Spurs failed to bring in a goalscoring midfielder during the first half of the campaign. But they could use someone like Malinovskyi during the second half of the season.
The 29-year-old is at the peak of his career right now, and he could make an immediate impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He will add creativity, vision and goals in the final third.
Conte has an impressive midfield at his disposal, but they are lacking in craft and goals. The 29-year-old could certainly fill that void if Tottenham manages to sign him. The reported €15 million asking price should not be a problem for a club with Tottenham’s resources.
