Chelsea are planning on signing Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore at the earliest as they aim bring future stars to Cobham.

According to football.london, Chelsea are hunting for a few top-rated English youngsters from rival academies. Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore is a name on the list of potential targets, including Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Sunderland’s Chris Rigg.

Mikey Moore is a prodigious talent coming out of the Tottenham academy. The 15-year-old centre-forward has already made his mark with the youth sides while being a regular with Spurs’ Under-18 Premier League side. He has featured in seven games scoring twice and assisting four times.

Moore is yet to sign a professional contract, and Tottenham hope he will soon pen a deal they might offer. However, there are plenty of Premier League teams keeping an eye on the youngster’s situation, with Chelsea already planning on signing him if he becomes available.

The Blues have coined vision 2030 for their Cobham academy, led by director Neil Bath. They wanted to start this a few years ago, but the process has accelerated with the arrival of new owners. Chelsea aim at having 15 per cent of their Premier League minutes from academy players, while keeping 25 per cent of their first-team squad from Cobham.

They have achieved success to varying degrees with the progression of stars like Conor Gallagher, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, and Mason Mount. The Blues plan on bringing many such stars into the fore and making Cobham a force within English football.

The summer signing of Carney Chukwuemeka, Omari Hutchinson, and Cesare Casadei are examples of what the future might look like. They are already hunting for other players from rival academies, such as Ethan Nwaneri of Arsenal and Chris Rigg from Sunderland.

Adding Moore to the list makes perfect sense for the Blues, who may have seen the Tottenham wonderkid in action up close and personal several times. The 15-year-old certainly has the qualities to succeed and make the Chelsea academy sides better than current standards.

Tottenham will intensify the fight to ward off interest from Chelsea or other teams. They hope to develop Moore into a future star on the lines of current striker Harry Kane and reap the rewards.
