Everton are set to reignite their interest in Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus as they aim to bolster their ranks in January.

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Mohammed Kudus has attracted interest from Everton as the Premier League side are very keen to bring the player to English soil.

Kudus proved his brilliance in the World Cup as despite their valiant efforts Ghana’s joy was shortlived as they crashed out of the tournament from the group stage only.

Several young players showed promise on this bigger stage and Kudus has been one of them. The 22-year-old was virtually everywhere on the pitch as he almost led Ghana to a fairytale ending. His work rate has now alerted a number of clubs and Everton are ready to pounce on the youngster. The Toffees remain an avid admirer of the player and even tried to bring him in the summer.

But having lost a number of key players Ajax were very reluctant to let go of another asset and he went on to serve the reigning Dutch champions. The Ghanaian lit up the Champions League with six-goal contributions in six games and also extended his helping hand in the Eredivisie by finding the net on five occasions.

Everton will test the waters with a €30 million offer in January for the attacker who has a contract running down till 2025. Ajax won’t feel the heat as of now but they cannot stand long in front of a Premier League interest.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United are also keeping track of the player and if suitable will be involved in a transfer tussle. Pre-dominantly an attacking midfielder the player can also be deployed further deep in the midfield and can also play as a centre forward.

Everton lack that kind of a profile in their squad but it remains to be seen whether Kudus will be interested in donning the jersey of a club that will be massively involved in the relegation fight going forward this season.

Having already scored twice in the World Cup the player has already demonstrated he is capable of handling pressure in crunch times and Everton will use all their resources to get a deal done.
