Real Madrid will reportedly ramp up the efforts to secure the services of Jude Bellingham, with Liverpool prioritising Enzo Fernandez.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, the likeliest destination for Jude Bellingham now seems to be Real Madrid. Liverpool will prioritise signing Enzo Fernandez next year to bolster the midfield unit. And the Merengues are set to step up their efforts to land the English midfielder.

Jude Bellingham might still be in his teens, but he is already one of the best midfielders in the world. The 19-year-old has been on a constantly upward trajectory since breaking into the Birmingham FC first-team squad as a 16-year-old. And the player has gone from strength to strength since joining Borussia Dortmund nearly 30 months ago.

The English international is enjoying a solid 2022/23 campaign, managing nine goals and three assists in 22 appearances thus far. And Bellingham was recently in fine form with England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup before the Three Lions’ ouster. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Real Madrid will look to sign Bellingham as part of the succession plan for Luka Modric. The Croat is coming off a gruelling World Cup campaign with Croatia and is closing in on the end of his career. So Real Madrid must plan for life after the veteran midfielder, with Bellingham emerging as a viable target.

But while Bellingham is a top target, the Merengues are not ready to pay beyond a certain limit to sign him. That had left Real Madrid trailing Liverpool in the race to land the English international. In addition, recent reports claimed that Bellingham wants to join the Merseyside club next year.

But Bellingham does not seem to be a priority target anymore for Liverpool, with the Reds now focusing on Enzo Fernandez. And recent reports have claimed that Benfica and Liverpool have a pre-agreement for the Argentine international. So Real Madrid might have a clear sight at Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old is not averse to joining Real Madrid, even though his priority destination has been Liverpool. But with the Merseyside club prioritising signing Fernandez, joining Real Madrid seems to be the best option for the Englishman.
