Joao Felix offered to Real Madrid

Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered Real Madrid the chance to sign Joao Felix, valued at €100 million by Atletico Madrid.

According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Joao Felix will likely leave Atletico Madrid next year. And Jorge Mendes has offered Real Madrid the chance to sign the Portuguese attacker. Los Rojiblancos will demand around €100 million to part ways with the disgruntled youngster.

Atletico Madrid seemed to have struck a coup when they beat stiff competition to sign Joao Felix from Benfica. The Colchoneros broke their transfer record to secure the services of the 23-year-old. But the youngster has not been able to progress as much as he would have liked in the last three years.

The Portuguese international has started only nine of the 21 games played by Atletico Madrid this season. And Felix’s patience has been wearing thin at the Civitas Metropolitano in the last few months. So a January departure could be on the cards. And Jorge Mendes has offered the young attacker to Real Madrid.

Reports a few months had indicated that Real Madrid might be interested in the 23-year-old. So Los Blancos might be receptive to the offer from Mendes and launch the offensive for Felix. While the Portuguese international might not be a natural fit in Carlo Ancelotti’s system, he can feature as the central striker.

With Karim Benzema struggling to remain fit, Real Madrid might benefit from signing Felix from Atletico Madrid. The player’s presence in the final third will enable Ancelotti to create a fluid offensive unit. And Felix also showed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup that he could play on the left wing, making him an alternative for Vinicius Junior.

But it is unclear if Atletico Madrid will be willing to strengthen a direct rival by selling the player to Real Madrid. The Portuguese attacker’s price tag, worth €100 million, might not pose a problem for Los Blancos either. So Atletico Madrid will likely look to sell the youngster to a foreign club.

The 23-year-old has no shortage of suitors either, with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly interested in him. It will be interesting to see if any of his Premier League suitors present an offer to Atletico Madrid. At the same time, Real Madrid’s presence in the equation will complicate matters.
