Chelsea are willing to open talks with AC Milan for Armando Broja, but only a loan deal seems viable at this time.

According to Sport Witness via Corriere dello Sport, Armando Broja remains a target for AC Milan, and Chelsea are reportedly willing to open talks with the Serie A giants. A loan deal seems possible at this stage, but the Rossoneri would want a permanent capture.

Armando Broja is considered a future star for Chelsea after a good loan spell at Southampton last season. The forward produced a few good performances at St Marys and caught the eye of many clubs across the continent during the summer window.

He reportedly came close to joining West Ham in the summer, with the Hammers open to paying over £30 million for the forward. In the end, Thomas Tuchel kept him on board, and despite the German’s sacking, the 21-year-old striker remains an integral part of the club’s future.

Chelsea handed him a new six-year deal to fend off interest and secure the player for the long term. Even with the new contract, Broja has only found game time from the bench while starting only twice for the club this season in the Premier League.

The Blues may feel the need to give him more game time and may allow him to go out on another loan deal. AC Milan have remained keen on the forward despite the 21-year-old striker signing a new contract, but any move has its complications.

Chelsea were reportedly open to letting him leave for €35 million if reports were to be believed. However, new owner Todd Boehly has immense faith in the attacker and may not allow any immediate departure for the 21-year-old striker.

However, things could prove tricky if Chelsea are incentivized to allow Broja to leave, especially to AC Milan. The Blues are tracking Rafael Leao quite seriously and may let the Albanian join if that helps them land the Portuguese forward.

Chelsea are willing to open talks with Milan to figure out a few possibilities, but at present, only a loan deal seems viable. Milan remain keen on a permanent acquisition to inject different qualities into their attacking third.

Moreover, the Blues are eyeing several high-profile targets to fill their attacking lineup, which could push the striker further down the pecking order. Hence, a loan deal would benefit all parties, including Broja.
