Real Madrid reach verbal agreement for Estevao

La Liga champions Real Madrid reportedly have a preferential option on 15-year-old Brazilian prodigy Estevao Willian.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid and Palmeiras have verbally agreed on a preferential option on Estevao Willian. Los Blancos will receive information for offers for the 15-year-old Brazilian prodigy with this verbal agreement.

Estevao Willian is the latest promising prospect to emerge from the conveyor belt of prodigies in Brazil. The country has produced phenomenal talents that are strutting their stuff in Europe. And after stars like Vinicius Junior and Gabriel Martinelli, players like Endrick and Estevao have popped up.

The 15-year-old is a right-winger and is yet another attacking sensation in his homeland. And the Brazilian prodigy currently plies his trade for the Palmeiras under-17 team and is taking age-group football by storm in his nation. So it is hardly surprising that European bigwigs are interested, with Real Madrid now joining the queue of suitors.

The reigning La Liga champions have already agreed to a deal for one Palmeiras wonderkid. To that end, Endrick will join Real Madrid in July 2024 after he turns 18, with the operation worth an astronomical €72 million. But while Endrick will potentially be a successor to Karim Benzema, Real Madrid might need another attacking reinforcement in a few years.

Eden Hazard will likely leave Real Madrid next year, while Marco Asensio’s future is uncertain. Beyond the duo, Carlo Ancelotti has Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes at his disposal in the offensive unit. While the two Brazilians are not going anywhere, Real Madrid will need another option in the final third.

Estevao is thus a viable target for Los Blancos, keeping in mind the coming decade. And the Merengues have now verbally agreed to a preferential option on the 15-year-old Brazilian prodigy. With this deal, Real Madrid will receive information on every offer that Palmeiras will receive for the teenager.

With European powerhouses like Barcelona and Arsenal reportedly interested, having this option should serve Real Madrid well. But like Endrick, Estevao has a release clause worth €60 million, thus making him a potentially expensive acquisition.
