La Liga heavyweights Barcelona have reportedly established contact with 18-year-old German international Youssoufa Moukoko over a Bosman move next year.

According to a report by Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona and Youssoufa Moukoko are in contact. The Catalan giants have initiated the correspondence ahead of potentially reaching a pre-contract agreement with the 18-year-old German international over a possible Bosman move in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Youssoufa Moukoko is one of the most promising young strikers to have emanated from a German club in the last few years. The teenage prodigy has been with the Black and Yellows for over half a dozen years. And after taking age-group football by storm in Germany, he earned his first-team debut as a 16-year-old.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a solid 2022/23 season, amassing six goals and six assists in 22 outings for Borussia Dortmund. And he was recently in Qatar to represent the German national side at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga giants are in a spot of bother over Moukoko’s future as he is in the final months of his contract. Such a situation has alerted Barcelona.

Barcelona signed a striker this past summer by bringing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. But the veteran Polish international is approaching the final phase of his career. So it behoves Barcelona to lay down a succession plan for the 34-year-old, bringing Moukoko into the picture.

The 18-year-old German international is still in the early days of his career. So the youngster can initially learn the ropes from Lewandowski before becoming the Pole’s long-term successor. And the Catalan giants have established contact with Moukoko’s entourage over a possible Bosman move.

With the teenage prodigy in the final months of his contract, Barcelona can potentially reach a pre-contract agreement in January. So the Catalan giants have taken the first step toward that. And with recent reports claiming that Moukoko dreams of joining Barcelona, a Bosman move might be on the cards.

Barcelona will now look to proceed efficiently to turn Moukoko’s head. And it will be interesting to see if the 18-year-old German international chooses to run down his Borussia Dortmund contract to move to Spotify Camp Nou in a Bosman move next year.
