North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are vying for Mohammed Kudus and are likely to enquire about the Ghanaian’s availability.
According to 90min, Mohammed Kudus is attracting plenty of interest, with Arsenal and Tottenham enquiring about the Ghanaian’s availability. The Ajax man is proving his worth at the World Cup and grabbing the attention of many other top-tier sides, including Liverpool.
Ajax are bracing themselves for offers for Mohammed Kudus in January after his impressive performances in Qatar. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder scored a brace against South Korea that kept his nation’s hopes alive at the World Cup.
Those performances have attracted the attention of clubs like Real Madrid. A host of Premier League clubs are also vying for his signature. Kudus is having a prolific season despite not being in the picture for Ajax until early October.
Kudus has 12 goals across 23 appearances for club and country this season, and the ceiling is sky-high for the 22-year-old’s future. Liverpool are also in the frame to approach while being joined by Arsenal and Tottenham.
Ajax reportedly rejected a £15 million bid from Everton in the summer, a decision they will remain pleased about. Kudus’s valuation has skyrocketed since the season began. The Eredivisie giants will remain hopeful of attracting huge bids in the following windows. And they are hopeful, considering the Liverpool target has a contract until 2025.
Mikel Arteta is in the market for a top player that would elevate his current squad’s quality ahead of the season’s second part. Arsenal are thick in the title race and lead the Premier League charts by five points.
While an attacking midfielder is not a priority for Arteta, he could look at Kudus’s performances and consider getting him into the squad. Arsenal are chasing a new winger for January but cannot rule out a move for a player of Kudus’s calibre if he becomes available.
Tottenham’s need for a player of his profile is more important for Antonio Conte. Spurs lack a creative midfielder in their squad and are in the market for a similar profile. Ruslan Malinovskyi is a target who could prove much cheaper than Kudus.
Kudus, however, will prove a long-term prospect for the club. And adding quality of his calibre would elevate the overall mood in the team. Hence, the two north London sides have enquired about the Liverpool target before the January window opens. But Liverpool’s presence in the equation complicates matters for the other clubs.
