La Liga champions Real Madrid have ramped up the contact for Barcelona target Endrick, valued at €60 million by Palmeiras.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Juni Calafat has travelled to Brazil to get Endrick closer to Real Madrid. The Merengues have thus intensified contact for the 16-year-old Palmeiras wonderkid, a target for Barcelona who will cost €60 million.

Endrick is the darling of the transfer market at the moment after enjoying an excellent 2022. The teenage prodigy burst into the limelight after his brilliant performances at Copinha. And the Brazilian whizkid has established a foothold in the first-team squad at Palmeiras despite his tender years.

The 16-year-old scored three goals and assisted one in seven games in the season’s final stretch. as Palmeiras clinched the Serie A title. And the player seems destined to move to Europe when he turns 18. Endrick does not have a shortage of suitors either, with Barcelona and Real Madrid being hot on his tail.

Xavi Hernandez recently confirmed Barcelona’s interest in Endrick. And it is hardly surprising, considering Robert Lewandowski is well into his thirties. The veteran striker will be in the twilight of his career when Endrick becomes eligible to move to Europe. But his release clause, worth €60 million, will put Barcelona in a spot of bother.

As for Real Madrid, the Merengues are in a healthier position to pursue the Brazilian wonderkid. The reigning La Liga champions are reportedly confident of signing the 16-year-old in 2024. And with Karim Benzema approaching the final phase of his career, Real Madrid should concentrate on signing someone like Endrick.

The Merengues are now intensifying the contact for the teenage prodigy, with Juni Calafat travelling to Brazil. Calafat has been instrumental in getting young prospects like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes to Real Madrid. And it will be interesting to see if he can bring Endrick to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Unlike Barcelona, Real Madrid should have little trouble shelling out €60 million to sign Endrick. But with PSG reportedly leading the race to sign the 16-year-old, it will be interesting to see if Los Blancos can somehow secure his services.
