Tottenham set to monitor Mohammed Kudus at the World Cup

Tottenham’s list of players to watch at the World Cup grows as they are set to keep an eye out for Mohammed Kudus in Qatar.

According to Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham are interested in Mohammed Kudus and will watch the Ajax attacker at the World Cup. Antonio Conte is keen on attacking reinforcements in January and could add the Ghana international to his list.

Tottenham are in the market for various options to reinforce their squad ahead of the January transfer window. Antonio Conte is seeking players who can bring quality and push the team towards their goals. Spurs are currently fourth in the Premier League and remain in the Champions League.

Few losses and bad results saw Spurs lose their grip on a possible title challenge. They have since lost their third spot to Newcastle United going into the World Cup break. Tottenham reportedly plan on making at least three signings, including a new forward.

Spurs do have a good stable of forwards and supposed goalscorers. They bought Richarlison to shore up the front line in the summer, but the Brazilian has yet to make his mark. As Conte seeks immediate results, a new player could arrive in January, with a few names already discussed internally.

The north London club could use the World Cup to scout some of their targets, including Manuel Ugarte. Mohammed Kudus is also of interest. Spurs could take a closer look by sending scouts to watch the Ajax attacker in action for Ghana.

Kudus’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed as many clubs, including Tottenham, chase the Ajax attacker. He has reached double figures for goals in 21 appearances for the Dutch side. An approach from a top club will not surprise the Eredivisie club, although they might look to hold on until the summer.

Tottenham are also tracking Marcus Thuram, who could be available at a knocked-down price in January. However, one must recognise a talent of Kudus’s quality. Conte could look to develop the player into a potential star for the future. Ajax will complicate matters with their potentially huge asking price.

The idea would be to scout players and see them in action at the World Cup and make a decision after the tournament. The January transfer window is always tough for top clubs, for players usually come with an inflated price tag.
