Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a deal to sign Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have jumped the queue as they eye a winter swoop for in-form Ajax star Mohammed Kudus. That is according to German outlet Bild, which claims Kudus might be available for as little as €10 million. It appears to be a steal for someone in such fine scoring form, but that value is set to skyrocket as the season progresses.

The 22-year-old joined Ajax from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland in 2020 after the Dutch outfit beat a number of top clubs across Europe for the highly-coveted talent.

A series of injury issues since arriving in the Netherlands have slowed his progress, but he is well-and-truly making a name for himself thanks to his stellar performances in the Champions League, scoring three goals in three group games so far, including a thunderous strike away at Liverpool.

In total, Kudus has scored eight goals in 12 games across all competitions for Ajax this season. Needless to say, there are already top European clubs queueing up to secure the services of the breakout star.

Everton and Borussia Dortmund are both keeping tabs on the progress of the Ajax attacking prodigy ahead of launching a potential bid for the 22-year-old this coming January. The former even pursued him in the summer. Antonio Conte’s Tottenham have also now their hat in the ring and are seriously interested in the versatile forward.

Conte already has a plethora of offensive options at his disposal. But Kudus’s flexibility to play up front or in attacking midfield might make him a tempting addition for the Tottenham manager, with Spurs lacking creativity in the final third right now.

The Lilywhites currently have only one string to their bow as they rely heavily on the front three to create as well as score goals on their own. This has become increasingly clear with Son Heung-min currently out of form and clearly not competing in the early stages of the season.

In addition, Harry Kane, Son, and Richarlison are likely to play a major role for their respective countries at the World Cup. So Tottenham might have to make a mid-season move. Kudus, who had been on Tottenham’s radar in the summer, certainly ticks most of the boxes.

With a combination of technical ability, impressive awareness, and superb ball control, Kudus has the ability to wriggle his way out of challenges using his deceptive strength and pace. He also boasts a deadly powerful shot in his locker.

At just 22, It is clear that the attack-minded youngster has a bright future ahead of him and would be a smart buy for Spurs in the long run as well as here and now. That said, Borussia Dortmund are currently considered to be the favourite to land the young forward, but Spurs are showing serious interest as things stand.
