La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly ready to offer €35 million for Brazilian attacking sensation Angelo Gabriel from Santos.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona will soon establish contact with Santos for Angelo Gabriel. The Catalan giants are ready to shell out €35 million to secure the services of the Brazilian attacking sensation in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Angelo Gabriel is one of the most prodigious attacking prospects to have emanated in Brazil in the last few years. The teenage prodigy progressed through the ranks at Santos before making his first-team debut as a 15-year-old in October 2020. In doing so, he became the second-youngest debutant for Santos.

The Brazilian attacking sensation has broken a few more records in the last two years. And Angelo Gabriel has enjoyed a decent 2022 season, chipping in with two goals and eight assists in 46 appearances. While the player’s output can improve, he has done enough to capture the attention of Barcelona.

The 17-year-old has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. But the Catalan giants are now ready to jump the gun and bring him to Europe next summer. Angelo Gabriel will turn 18 in December, thus becoming eligible for a move to a European club. And the interest from Barcelona is understandable.

Memphis Depay faces an uncertain future at Spotify Camp Nou and might leave soon. The Dutch attacker reportedly wants to exit Barcelona as a free agent in the January transfer window. In addition, Ferran Torres finds himself in a precarious situation and does not have his future set in stone.

So Angelo Gabriel is a viable target for Barcelona who can be a long-term solution at Camp Nou. The Catalan giants want to beat the competition as they believe he is talented enough to make an impact like Vinicius Junior. So Barcelona will soon establish contact with Santos for the Brazilian attacking sensation. And they are ready to offer €35 million to secure his services.

Barcelona will face stiff competition from Newcastle United for Angelo Gabriel. But even though the Magpies have an attractive project, Barcelona might be a more appealing destination. They do not spend figures to the tune of €35 million on everyone, so it will be interesting to see if such a bid does the trick.
