According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, Gianluca Prestianni is the latest South American prodigy to emerge on Real Madrid’s radar. The reigning La Liga champions are tracking the progress of the 16-year-old Argentine wonderkid at Velez Sarsfield.
Gianluca Prestianni is the latest prodigious whizkid to have emerged from the conveyor belt of talented footballers in Argentina. The country that has produced attacking greats like Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi continues to churn out other precocious forwards. As for Prestianni, the 16-year-old currently plies his trade for Velez Sarsfield.
The Argentine wonderkid made his first-team debut for Velez in May this year, thus becoming the youngest player in the club’s history. Since then, Prestianni has made only five appearances for Velez, whose precarious position in Liga Profesional has forced them to overlook the youngster. Nonetheless, the 16-year-old has emerged on the radar of Real Madrid.
The Merengues are renowned for constantly foraying into the South American market for the brightest young footballers. Such an outlook has given Real Madrid current first-team aces like Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes. And the reigning La Liga champions remain in South America to search for more prodigies.
Recent reports have heavily linked Real Madrid with the hottest property in South America, Endrick. And another 16-year-old wonderkid, Gianluca Prestianni, has now emerged on Los Blancos’ radar. But as is the case with Endrick, Real Madrid will have to bid time before bringing the Argentine prodigy to Spain.
While Endrick remains a top target for Real Madrid, recent reports have suggested that the 16-year-old wants to join Chelsea. So Prestianni, who can play across the frontline, might be a viable alternative. The teenage whizkid’s agent is former Real Madrid striker Rolando Zarate. And the report claims talks between Real Madrid and Prestianni are “fluid”.
MARCA has also suggested that other clubs are interested in the Argentine wonderkid without naming them. But with Real Madrid already initiating contact, the Merengues might fancy their chances of signing the 16-year-old.
