Manchester City are reportedly in talks to sign the Chelsea youngster Jude Soonsup-Bell.

According to a report from London Evening Standard, the Premier League champions are looking to sign the highly talented young forward from Chelsea and they have already opened talks to secure his services.

The 18-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and Chelsea have not been able to convince him to sign an extension with them yet. If the situation stays like this, the Blues will have the option of cashing in on the player during the January transfer window or losing him for free at the end of the season.

It certainly makes sense for them to sell the player in January for a nominal price instead of losing him for nothing and Manchester City are looking to take advantage of the situation and sign the player.

Chelsea have one of the best academies in the country and they have produced several quality players over the years.

Soonsup-Bell is also highly regarded at Cobham and he has a big future ahead of him. Ideally, Chelsea will not want to lose him anytime soon, but they are currently powerless to stop him from leaving because of his contract situation.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have always focused on youth along with established players while strengthening the squad and Soonsup-Bell would be a quality long-term acquisition for them.

The Premier League champions have done well to nurture talented young players like Phil Foden in recent years and Pep Guardiola will be expected to help the young Chelsea forward fulfil his tremendous potential as well.

The talented youngster joined Chelsea from Swindon a few years ago, and he was expected to be a part of the club’s first team in the coming seasons.

It will be interesting to see if the player is willing to join Chelsea’s Premier League rival Manchester City in the coming months now.

The youngster needs to join a club where he will get regular game time, and Manchester City might not be the ideal place for him to continue his development right now.
