Juventus have reportedly submitted an enquiry for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante who will be a free player next summer.
As per Ignazio Genuardi, Serie A giants Juventus have registered their interest for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante. The French midfielder is in the last year of his current contract and could depart from Stamford Bridge next summer when his contract expires.
Talks of a new contract have been suggested, but there are yet to be any movements before the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 31-year-old has been involved in just two Premier League matches so far and has already been ruled out from the World Cup.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has reiterated his desire to extend his association with Chelsea. And given the west London club’s recent problems, Graham Potter might sanction a new deal for the player.
Juventus have not replicated their performance, and the initial impression has been pretty horrific in Massimiliano Allegri’s second spell. The Italian tactician has struggled to get the best out of the Bianconeri, and there have been numerous speculations regarding his job security. But the Juventus hierarchy is likely to hold on to him till the World Cup.
The Serie A giants sent out Denis Zakaria and Arthur Melo on loan to Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively, and brought in Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain to balance the equation.
None of their existing midfielders have had the desired influence in the middle of the pitch. So Juventus expected to undergo a complete overhaul next summer.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Adrien Rabiot. But the chances of swapping him with Kante are very less. Kante remains one of the priorities for the Blues, and on top of him, the Blues want to add some more bodies to strengthen their midfield.
A deal in January might be deemed impossible as Graham Potter is still figuring out the best possible combination for his team. Chelsea might take the help of the winter transfer window to rebuild their squad, but they will unlikely entertain offers for their players.
Kante has also been monitored by Barcelona, and if Juventus are to snatch him from Chelsea’s grasp, the Serie A giants need to act very quickly.
