Chelsea are ready to join the competition for 21-year-old Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, also a target for Real Madrid and Manchester City.
According to Italian outlet Napoli Magazine, Chelsea are eyeing a swoop for Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has also emerged as a target for Real Madrid and Manchester City. Napoli signed the 21-year-old from Dinamo Batumi, and he has been the shining light for the Serie A giants.
Napoli are one of a handful teams in European circuit who are yet to lose a match this season. And the 21-year-old Georgian’s impressive form has put them in a very formidable position in Serie A. His performance against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League particularly hogged the limelight as the Partenopei thrashed Jurgen Klopp’s side 4-1, with Kvaratskhelia being the kingmaker.
Chelsea will be aiming big in the transfer market as a plethora of players will be ready to leave the Stamford Bridge next year. Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech have struggled for game time under Graham Potter. And the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager might sanction to bring in players of his choice.
Napoli’s possessional play is somewhat similar to Potter’s style. And should Kvaratskhelia arrive in London, he could have had a seamless transition to English football. Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli chairman, is famous for his staunch negotiation skills and could demand a fortune for the Serie A club’s star player.
Manchester City are also believed to be an avid admirer of the 21-year-old and will be interested to link him with the likes of Phil Foden and Erling Haaland. Pep Guardiola already has one of the most superior attacking contingent at his disposal. And adding Kvaratskhelia could be a dream move for the Manchester City manager.
Guardiola knows if he wants to conquer the Champions League, he will need quality players at the forefront. And Kvaratskhelia has already shown he can take his game to another level on football’s bigger stage.
Real Madrid are still struggling to cope with the difficulties of Eden Hazard, with the Belgian winger yet to have a full-fledged injury-free season since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are aware of Kvaratskhelia’s potential. And should they want to invest in a proper replacement the Napoli forward could be their target.

The 21-year-old has already been involved in ten goal contributions in the Serie A, while in Champions League he has netted two goals and three assists in four matches. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can beat Real Madrid and Manchester City to his signature next year.
