Serie A giants Juventus reportedly want to sign Barcelona defensive sensation Alejandro Balde in a swap deal involving Fabio Miretti.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Alejandro Balde is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants want to secure the services of the Barcelona defensive sensation in a swap deal. And they are ready to offer 19-year-old Italian midfielder Fabio Miretti in the operation.

Alejandro Balde started his youth career at Sant Gabriel before joining Espanyol in 2009. The 18-year-old eventually ended up at Barcelona’s famed academy La Masia in 2011 before making swift progress in the decade that followed. And he has finally established a foothold at Camp Nou this season.

Xavi Hernandez has utilised Balde frequently this term, with the Spanish defensive sensation making eight appearances for Barcelona. The youngster has even supplied three assists in that time, and his performances have alerted several European bigwigs. And Serie A giants Juventus are one of his prospective suitors.

Juventus will look to sign a left-back in 2023, with Alex Sandro’s performance levels regressing considerably in the last few years. And the Brazilian international will soon become surplus to requirements at the Allianz Stadium. Meanwhile, recent reports have linked several left-backs with the Serie A giants, including Alejandro Grimaldo.

Barcelona veteran Jordi Alba is also on Juventus’s radar, with the Spaniard losing prominence at Camp Nou. But another Barcelona left-back has emerged as a target for the Bianconeri, with Balde becoming a top target, according to Calciomercatoweb. And the Serie A giants are ready to offer Fabio Miretti in a swap deal to land Balde.

According to the report, Miretti will be available for a direct swap, although Barcelona might not be open to selling Balde. With Xavi viewing the 18-year-old as a long-term left-back solution, the Blaugrana might not sanction his sale. In addition, Miretti’s profile is not of requirement at Camp Nou.

Barcelona will likely look to bring in a defensive midfielder as a long-term successor for Sergio Busquets. With that in mind, several candidates, including Ruben Neves, have emerged on Barcelona’s radar. As for the swap deal, Miretti and Balde will likely remain at their current clubs instead of switching bases anytime soon.
