Chelsea are closely monitoring Gabriel Martinelli’s situation at Arsenal, with the north Londoners keen to tie the Brazilian to a long-term deal.

According to Daily Mail, some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League are keen on signing Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal are looking to tie the Brazilian to a new long-term deal. Meanwhile, Chelsea are among the outfits tracking the attacker, but the Gunners are confident about their prospects.

There is something special about the current Arsenal side, being one of the youngest squads in the top-five leagues of Europe. The Gunners are currently sitting at the summit of the Premier League, steadily becoming a contender for the title alongside Manchester City.

The key part of this side built by Mikel Arteta are its young players, particularly the attackers leading the line up front. One of the top performers in the final third has been Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian has been involved in three goals and an assist this season.  But his influence has been more than those numbers suggest.

The new Arsenal #11 has evolved his game this season and become a key part of Arteta’s attacking setup, making the left-sided role his own. And Arsenal remain eager to weed out some uncertainties surrounding a few of their young players, namely the Brazilian, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba.

The trio has two years left on their respective deals. And Arsenal reportedly hold an option to extend Martinelli’s contract by another season. The clause got inserted when he extended his contract back in 2020. The idea is to tie down the Brazilian for the long run, and the Gunners are working on it already.

Martinelli’s performances have ensured admiring glances from fellow top-four rivals in the Premier League. Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Brazilian’s situation at Arsenal, with the Bluues likely to make a move if the conditions are favourable.

Chelsea have been on a spending spree since their takeover led by Todd Boehly. They have recently tied down a deal for French attacker Christopher Nkunku and will be keen on adding more high-profile names to their roster.

While a move for Martinelli will be sensational by Chelsea’s standards, it is highly unlikely Arsenal will entertain any offers from their London rivals for one of their best players. Moreover, Martinelli’s current contract gives the Gunners some room to relax, but the club will be eager to sort his future out soon.
