Cadiz and Getafe are reportedly set to wage a battle to sign 22-year-old Spanish midfield prospect Antonio Blanco from fellow La Liga club Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Antonio Blanco could sort his future in the coming days, with two La Liga clubs keen on securing his services before the summer transfer window slams shut. Cadiz and Getafe will wage a battle to sign the Spanish midfield prospect from Real Madrid.

Antonio Blanco has been with Real Madrid for nearly a decade and has made significant progress in his career since then. The 22-year-old started at Montalbán before joining Séneca in 2010. He moved to Real Madrid three years later before going from strength to strength at La Fabrica.

Blanco turned professional by making his debut for Real Madrid Castilla in 2019 before earning his first-team bow in April 2021. But the Spanish midfield prospect has turned out only four further times for Real Madrid since then, primarily playing for the reserve side in the 2021/22 season.

But with Blanco now 22 years old, he needs first-team experience to further his progress. And with game-time likely to come at a premium at Real Madrid, the Spaniard will benefit from a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, either on loan or a permanent deal. The interest from Getafe comes in the wake of the Azulones securing the services of Borja Mayoral in a permanent deal this summer. And Blanco could be a solid addition to Quique Sanchez Flores’s squad for the 2022/23 season, considering the qualities he has displayed thus far in his short career.

Cadiz and Real Madrid also share a healthy working relationship with Real Madrid, with the Andalusian club signing Victor Chust permanently this summer from Los Blancos. Mariano Diaz also popped up on Cadiz’s radar recently, and Blanco could be the latest Real Madrid player to join Los Piratas.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid will look to cash in on Blanco this summer or haul him off on loan. A successful loan spell might help Real Madrid demand a high price for the 22-year-old midfield prospect next summer, when his time at the Spanish club might end for good.
