Barcelona, PSG and Manchester City could soon indulge in a triple “domino effect” deal that will see the Blaugrana landing Bernardo Silva.
According to reputed Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, a domino effect might be in play soon, with Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain likely to engage in an ambitious move. Such a project will see Bernardo Silva join Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong move to PSG and Marco Verratti make the switch to Manchester City.
The “domino effect” deal seems to be Barcelona’s latest ploy to secure the services of Bernardo Silva. The Catalan giants have been hot on the heels of the Portuguese playmaker for several weeks but are yet to convince Manchester City to part ways with their star midfielder this summer.
Recent reports have claimed that Barcelona and Manchester City are in contact over a possible move for Silva. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola suggested that Silva could depart from Etihad this month. Now, PSG’s entry into the equation will make the deal even more convoluted.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions have also shown interest in Silva, but the triple “domino effect” deal will see PSG signing Frenkie de Jong. Meanwhile, Marco Verratti will move to Manchester City as part of the ambitious project, with Barcelona finally securing the services of Silva after weeks of negotiations.
Several midfielders have already emerged on Manchester City’s radar as possible replacement options for Silva. One of them is Ligue 1-based Lucas Paqueta. But signing Marco Verratti might be an enticing prospect for Barcelona, while PSG will land a natural replacement for Verratti in de Jong.
The Dutch midfielder is in a frustrating situation at Camp Nou, with Barcelona desperate to cash in on him this summer. The latest plan to sign Silva might finally give the Blaugrana an organic way to offload de Jong while bringing in their desired replacement.

But the project is as ambitious as they come, and the “domino effect” will unlikely see the light of day, considering the three clubs need to convince each player. With de Jong desperate to remain at Camp Nou, the first stumbling block is already upon Barcelona, Manchester City and PSG.
