Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have reportedly been contacted by intermediaries over a potential move for PSG superstar Neymar this summer.

According to 90 Min, Paris Saint-Germain are considering the prospect of offloading Brazilian maverick Neymar this summer. And intermediaries have contacted Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to keep them updated about his potential availability.

Neymar joined PSG in 2017 in a deal that shattered the world record for transfer fees as Les Parisiens shelled out a mind-boggling €222 million to sign him from Barcelona. The 30-year-old’s time in Parc des Princes has not been the greatest success, as he has failed to lead the team to European glory even though PSG have won plenty of domestic trophies during his time at the club.

Neymar has had to deal with injury problems as well, while he has had some off-the-field disciplinary issues. All of it has led to question marks over his legacy in Paris and recently, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hinted that the French champions wouldn’t be averse to the prospect of getting rid of such players, leading to speculations over his future.

Neymar has reportedly been offered to his former club Barcelona as well as their arch-rivals Real Madrid. However, a move to the Premier League could be a more realistic possibility for the 30-year-old Brazilian superstar due to his massive wages. And as per the report, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been contacted by intermediaries linked with him to inform them about his situation.

Chelsea have already shown an interest in Neymar as former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel is considering revamping his entire attacking unit this summer. While the Blues had an agreement with Leeds United for Raphinha, the move could collapse due to the player’s wishes to join Barcelona, potentially opening the door for Chelsea to swoop for Neymar.

Manchester City have also been contacted over the situation surrounding Neymar this summer. However, considering that the Cityzens have already splashed the cash on Erling Haaland to strengthen their attack, it is unlikely that Pep Guardiola would consider sanctioning a move for the Brazilian international.

Manchester United are another club in England who have the financial capacity to meet Neymar’s sky-high wages, and intermediaries have been in touch with the Red Devils over the forward’s potential availability. Given their need to sign a new forward to support Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar can be a target, although the former Barcelona ace is unlikely to fit into Erik ten Hag’s vision and tactics.

Apart from Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United, Newcastle United have also been contacted and given an update on Neymar’s situation. The Magpies hold an interest in the 30-year-old, although he is apprehensive about a move to St James’ Park. Bayern Munich, Juventus and AC Milan are the other three clubs considered possible destinations for the PSG ace.

Neymar, for his part, is keen on a return to Barcelona. But the Catalans’ financial situation is likely to rule them out of contention. So, it remains to be seen how the situation evolves in the coming weeks.
