Barcelona and Real Madrid will reportedly face competition from Serie A giants AC Milan in the race to sign Brazilian attacker Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

According to a report by 90 min, Gabriel Jesus is the subject of interest from AC Milan over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Manchester City attacker is also a target for several other high-profile clubs in Europe, including La Liga heavyweights Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Gabriel Jesus is set to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window following Manchester City’s acquisition of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. The arrival of the attacking duo will leave Jesus in limbo, with the 25-year-old already a rotation option for Pep Guardiola.

Jesus enjoyed a solid 2021/22 season, amassing 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. But with his contract set to run out next year, Manchester City will likely prefer to cash in on the Brazilian attacker in the summer transfer window. Such a situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Barcelona will prioritise signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. But with Bayern Munich determined to keep hold of the Pole despite his recent comments, Barcelona will need to identify alternatives in case they fail to land the veteran striker. Jesus is thus a viable target for the Blaugrana.

As for Real Madrid, Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz will likely depart from the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer transfer window. With Karim Benzema the only natural striker at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal, Real Madrid will need to invest in a striker, making the versatile Brazilian attacker an option worth considering.

Barcelona and Real Madrid now face stiff competition from AC Milan in the race to sign Jesus. The Serie A giants have to consider signing a striker as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in the twilight of his glittering career, while Olivier Giroud is well into his thirties. Jesus is thus an attractive option to be a long-term solution in the final third for Milan.
