Everton and Leeds United are reportedly among the clubs keen on snapping up Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea in the summer.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Michy Batshuayi could be a popular figure in the market going into the summer transfer window. Several Premier League clubs are interested in securing the services of the Chelsea struggler ahead of the 2022/23 season, including Everton and Leeds United.

Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea in July 2016 following a productive two-year stint with Marseille. But the Belgian international has flattered to deceive during his spell with the Blues, instead spending more time out on loan at some club instead of Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Besiktas after joining the Turkish club last summer. And Batshuayi has been decent at Besiktas, amassing 14 goals and five assists in 28 Super Lig outings this season. The player will likely return to Chelsea once his temporary stint ends, but he could soon join another Premier League club, with Everton and Leeds United among his prospective suitors.

The summer transfer window will be a crucial period for Everton, especially if they stave off the threat of relegation. The Toffees could lose their two most productive players – Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin – ahead of the 2022/23 season, prompting them to delve into the market for attacking reinforcements.

Several attackers, including Allan Saint-Maximin and Memphis Depay, have been linked with Everton. But in Batshuayi, Everton will manage to sign a natural striker who could replace Calvert-Lewin. But the Merseyside outfit will need to fend off stiff competition from Leeds United to sign the Chelsea struggler.

The Whites, like Everton, have endured a difficult 2021/22 season, with Patrick Bamford’s absence leaving Raphinha with too much to do. So Leeds United must sign a striker in the summer transfer window, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia among their targets. And Batshuayi is also a viable target for Leeds.
