Real Madrid could compete with Liverpool and Manchester City in pursuit of Arnaut Danjuma, who has emerged as a potential Eden Hazard replacement.

As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arnaut Danjuma has popped up on the radar of Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Villarreal attacker, a target for Liverpool and Manchester United, could be a potential replacement for Eden Hazard.

Arnaut Danjuma has taken no time to establish himself as a pivotal figure for Villarreal. Despite arriving from an unheralded club like Bournemouth last summer, the Dutch international has carved out a place in the first-team squad at Estadio de la Ceramica.

The 25-year-old has a solid tally of 14 goals and four assists in 29 appearances in all competitions, with the record including six goals in nine UEFA Champions League outings. Danjuma’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, with some of the most high profile clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester United, setting their sights on him.

Real Madrid will enter a crucial summer transfer window, with major changes to the first-team squad on the cards. While Kylian Mbappe could join Los Blancos as the marquee signing, the Spanish giants might need to find a replacement for Eden Hazard, who has recently been linked with Arsenal. Danjuma is thus a viable target for Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could be forced to delve into the market for a winger in the summer transfer window, with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah yet to commit their long-term futures to the Reds. The offensive stalwarts have a little over a year left on their contracts, meaning the Merseyside giants need to keep their options. But recent reports have suggested that Liverpool will unlikely make an offer for the Villarreal attacker this summer.

As for Manchester United, the Red Devils might have to invest big on attacking players ahead of the 2022/23 season, with Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata on the verge of departing from Old Trafford. And with Mason Greenwood indefinitely suspended, signing a wide-attacker could become a priority.

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United could be leading the race to sign Danjuma. But Real Madrid’s emergence in pursuit of the 25-year-old could tip the scales against Manchester United, especially if they will also have Liverpool to compete with this summer.
