Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reportedly offered Barcelona target Noussair Mazraoui a deal worth over €10 million per year.

According to a report by German outlet Sport 1, the race to sign Noussair Mazraoui on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window has taken a new twist. The Ajax defender has a contract from Bayern Munich worth over €10 million per year on his table, leaving Barcelona in a spot of bother in his pursuit.

Noussair Mazraoui has become one of the hottest properties in Europe following some remarkable performances for Ajax. The 24-year-old has been particularly impressive in the ongoing campaign, amassing five goals and four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

But the Moroccan international’s stint with Ajax is set to end in the summer transfer window when his contract will expire. And the prospect of snapping him up on a free transfer has captured the attention of several high profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Recent reports have claimed that Mazraoui is poised to join Barcelona on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window following the latest contract offer from the Blaugrana. And the pursuit of the player makes a world of sense, considering Sergino Dest faces an uncertain future at Camp Nou despite some much-improved performances lately.

With Dani Alves in the twilight of his storied career, Barcelona’s need to sign a right-back has been accentuated, with Mazraoui a potential long-term option. But the Catalan giants have to fend off stiff competition from Bayern Munich to secure the services of the 24-year-old right-back.

The Bundesliga champions are determined to sign a right-back in the summer transfer window to replace Bouna Sarr. To that end, several right-backs have been linked with Bayern Munich, including Barcelona defender Sergino Dest. But it looks like Mazraoui is the priority target for Bayern Munich, who have tabled a lucrative contract to him.

According to Sport 1, the Bavarian giants are offering Mazraoui a deal worth over €10 million gross per year. Barcelona cannot afford to pay such wages to the Moroccan international. So, Bayern Munich’s bid puts the Blaugrana in a spot of bother, even though recent reports have claimed that he wants to move to Camp Nou.
