Manchester United are running the risk of losing Bruno Fernandes amid interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

A recent report from Fichajes has offered an update on the future of Bruno Fernandes. The influential playmaker is facing an uncertain future at Manchester United as the club continue to underperform in the Premier League. The report suggests Fernandes could consider leaving Old Trafford in the summer if Manchester United fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

It has put multiple clubs on alert, with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping close tabs on the situation. Even cross-town rivals Manchester City are involved in the equation, hoping to jump on an opportunity to sign the playmaker.

While the Citizens have no immediate need of a number ten, Pep Guardiola has always looked out for the opportunity to sign talented players who can further strengthen the team. With a tally of 49 goals and 39 assists in just 116 competitive appearances for Manchester United, Fernandes is certainly one of those players who can prove to be an asset under the Catalan.

Speaking of Catalans, Barcelona are expected to make a move for the Manchester United starlet, as they are expected to offload a few creative players in the summer. Philippe Coutinho, for one, could leave the club permanently after a promising start to life at Aston Villa, whereas Riqui Puig is staring at an uncertain future, amid interest from Wolves.

Their potential departures in the summer could pave the way for Barcelona to make a move for Fernandes. The Portuguese international can offer real quality to the Blaugrana, though it could see the club part ways with one of their existing stars.

Another potential destination for Bruno Fernandes is Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are set for a busy summer ahead and are expected to offload multiple star players, including Gareth Bale, Isco and Eden Hazard, who remains a top target for Newcastle United.

The addition of the 27-year-old, in that regard, could bring back some balance into the side. Fernandes, after all, can not only offer the creative prowess in the final third but can also emerge as the long-term replacement for playmaking stalwart Luka Modric.

Hence, these three clubs will closely monitor Manchester United’s progress during the remainder of the campaign. The Red Devils are currently fifth in the league, one point behind Arsenal in the Champions League places. However, with the Gunners having three games in hand, Manchester United need a miraculous turnaround if they are to finish inside the top four come May.
