Wilfried Zaha came to the rescue again as Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Wolves 2-1 in the Premier League on Tuesday.

A goal apiece from Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha has taken Crystal Palace to within six points of the top four in the Premier League table. Having conceded first, it was destined to be a comeback victory as the story has been for them this season.

Hugo Bueno stepped it up with a brilliant ball towards the penalty box, and Adama Traore was there to meet his cross to open the scoring. The home side showed more intent after the break, and the equaliser was pretty soon to arrive.

Michael Olise cut back into his favourite left foot, and it was just a matter of luck as Eze pushed his header towards the far corner. Crystal Palace tried to push more, and Zaha broke the deadlock with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Odsonne Edouard squared a beautiful pass, dissecting three defenders. And the former Manchester United defender made no mistake in putting the ball in the net. The Hard Tackle now runs the rule over Patrick Vieira’s men.

Vicente Guaita: 6/10

The Crystal Palace keeper did not have much to do and did his basics pretty right. Guaita has been a towering presence in the goal throughout the season. Traore’s header was not expected to be saved, but he had a pretty sharp evening otherwise.

Joel Ward: 6/10

The Crystal Palace skipper was in all sorts of problems as he had a tough time battling with Wolves debutant Hugo Bueno. He was caught napping at the time of the goal and also was very lucky as he continued his throttle with a yellow card in the second half.

Marc Guehi: 7/10

The English defender bullied Diego Costa throughout the game, with the veteran striker not having a comfortable moment in the match. Guehi almost had a 90% passing accuracy in the match.

Joachim Andersen: 7/10

The Danish defender, too, controlled the movement of Costa very well and did not provide him with any easy opportunity towards the goal. Patrick Vieira should be happy with Andersen’s performance.

Tyrick Mitchell: 6/10

Mitchell could not hold on to Adama Traore for most of the game, as the Spanish winger’s explosive pace gave him a pretty torrid time. Mitchell failed to prevent the opener but came back strongly after Traore went off. He had a few energetic moments after the break.

Jeffrey Schlupp: 6/10

Schlupp struggled at times to adjust to the pace of the game. He won a lot of second balls in the attacking third to get back the possession a number of times. But it was overall a mediocre display from the midfielder.

Cheick Doucoure: 6/10

Doucoure had a poor first half. He improved greatly in the second half, but a fifth yellow card means Vieira will have to field a team against Everton without the combative midfielder. He hit the post very early which could have been an excellent goal.

Eberechi Eze: 7/10

Eze was the most influential among the three midfielders. The 24-year-old found himself in a very good position as his header from Olise’s cross restored parity just after the interval. Had a good shift on the pitch.

Michael Olise: 7/10

Olise delivered a lovely ball to the box for the equaliser as Eze headed home. The left footer often tried to have a more natural dimension as he tried to cut inside to provide a more direct approach to the goal. He will grow in stature more if he is nurtured properly.

Odsonne Edouard: 6/10

Edouard struggled to take on the Wolverhampton Wanderers defenders. But an excellent move from him saw him feed a lovely ball to Zaha, bypassing three defenders which proved to be the winner.

Wilfried Zaha: 7.5/10

Zaha had a good duel with Nelson Semedo and got the better of him as the game wore on. The Crystal Palace talisman controlled the ball well from Edouard before sending it past Jose Sa for the winner.
