Roberto De Zerbi hinted at uncertainty over Richarlison’s immediate future amid previous links to an exit this summer.
Richarlison is widely expected to leave Tottenham, and an exit was considered a matter of time during the current window. However, the Brazilian has continued to shine in pre-season, and manager Roberto De Zerbi has not given an overwhelming confirmation about his future.
De Zerbi’s comments on Richarlison appeared in a Fabrizio Romano post on X, which hinted at uncertainty over the player’s immediate future. However, he praised the Brazilian for his talent and his character, while remaining unsure about what may happen next.
De Zerbi said, “I like Richarlison as a player and as a guy. His attitude and behaviour are unbelievable, but in the end, we have to respect what he wants to do. We love him. Let’s see what he wants to do.”
As things stand, there is a conversation to be had about Richarlison’s future, with Tottenham already looking into the market for a replacement amid links to Eli Junior Kroupi and Nicolo Tresoldi, according to reports. More importantly, the Brazilian has not performed to the expected levels since his £60 million move from Everton in 2022.
Richarlison has hit double figures in the league in only two of the last four seasons, while scoring only one goal in his first campaign at Spurs. There are reports stating that Tottenham are ready to consider offers, with one story pointing to their set asking price.
Everton were one of the teams interested in the South American attacker earlier, according to reports. However, the Toffees have seemingly cooled their admiration for the Brazilian.
