Patrick Dorgu reveals Chelsea dream amid Barcelona links

18-year-old defensive sensation Patrick Dorgu dreams of playing for Premier League giants Chelsea amid interest from Barcelona.

Patrick Dorgu has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances of late. The 18-year-old full-back is a huge prospect for the future, and he is on the radar of quite a few big clubs from across. The Denmark Under-21 star recently revealed the fact that he dreams of playing for Chelsea.

Dorgu came through the ranks at FC Nordsjaelland before joining Lecce in the summer of 2022. He initially joined them on a season-long loan deal which has been made permanent this summer. The 18-year-old spent the 2022/23 season as a part of their Under-19 setup and has now been promoted to their first team.

The Danish youth international has already made six appearances for their first team this season and also has an assist to his name. He has been on the pitch for 243 minutes and has managed to put in some impressive shifts.

His performances have caught the eyes of quite a few big clubs from across Europe. Barcelona are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Back in June, Dorgu’s agent revealed that the Spanish giants have been following his progress very closely.

The Catalan giants do not have much depth in the left-back position, and they are looking for someone who can share the load alongside Alejandro Balde. Xavi’s team are interested in the 18-year-old full-back. They believe he could be a great addition to their ranks and are keen on having him in their ranks.

Meanwhile, English clubs Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with the Danish youth international. While there is a lot of interest in his services, Dorgu recently said that he dreams of playing for Chelsea. He has been a fan of the Blues for over a decade now and it is a big dream of his to play at Stamford Bridge.

The teenager said to Ekstra Bladet via SportWitness, “Chelsea is my dream to play for. I have been a fan of them for over 10 years, so it would be a huge dream to play for them.”

While the Lecce defender dreams of playing for Chelsea, the Blues are well covered in the left-back position with Ben Chilwell, Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella in their ranks. They are unlikely to sign a new full-back any time soon. As a result, Dorgu will have to ensure he can attract interest from the London club because, at this point in time, there is no interest in his services from Chelsea.
