Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh, a target for Barcelona, has revealed that he dreams of joining Real Madrid in the future.

In a recent interview with Forbes Israel, as relayed by 90min, Oscar Gloukh discussed his future. The Red Bull Salzburg midfielder has been a target for Barcelona this year. But the 19-year-old revealed that he dreams of joining Real Madrid while confirming that Barcelona failed to sign him.

He said, “Barcelona remembered me when we already had everything closed with Salzburg. I have been a Madrid fan since I can remember. My biggest dream is to play at the Bernabeu with the Real shirt. It would be the pinnacle for me.”

Oscar Gloukh is one of the best young players in the world, making his mark in his homeland in his formative years. The youngster’s progress at Maccabi Tel Aviv did not go unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Barcelona also scouted the Israeli wonderkid, with others providing competition.

But a move did not materialise for Barcelona, with the 19-year-old midfielder joining Red Bull Salzburg. The transfer has worked out for the teenage sensation, who has been a regular for the Austrian outfit. He has chipped in with three goals and three assists in 12 appearances thus far this season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s interest in Gloukh remains, with the Blaugrana scouring the market for a young solution. But several Premier League bigwigs are also keen on signing the promising midfielder. However, the Israeli international’s comments suggest a move to Barcelona might not materialise due to his affinity to Real Madrid.

The Merengues have also scouted Gloukh this year, but the 19-year-old might not be their top target. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s move for a midfielder depends on the future of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. But Gloukh’s desire to join Real Madrid means a future move might be on the cards if the Spanish giants come calling.

Meanwhile, Barcelona might view the teenage sensation as a prospect to replace Ilkay Gundogan. The German international has started his Barcelona stint well, but he is well into his thirties. So, it behoves the Blaugrana to scour the market for viable options. But it will be interesting to see if the reigning La Liga champions beat Real Madrid and others to Gloukh’s signature.
