Jean-Clair Todibo open to Barcelona return amid Chelsea, Manchester United links

Jean-Clair Todibo has been linked with a move away from OGC Nice recently, and he is open to rejoining Barcelona.

In an interview with Canal+, as relayed by Barca Blaugranes, Jean-Clair Todibo has suggested that he is open to rejoining his former club Barcelona amid his links with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Todibo has established himself as a key performer for French club OGC Nice, and his performances have attracted the attention of the top Premier League clubs. He was expected to leave in January but ended up staying at Nice.

His suitors are likely to return for him at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. The Frenchman has been talking about his future recently, and he has now revealed that he would be open to returning to his former club after failing to establish himself as a key player for the Spanish outfit previously.

The 24-year-old has revealed that when he joined Barcelona, he was not ready to be a starter for them. However, the Frenchman is a much developed player now, and he is certainly one of the best in Ligue 1.

“When I arrived at Barça, the plan was for me to replace Pique. I had the qualities to do it but I wasn’t ready to do it. A return to Barça? Why not?” he told Canal Plus.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona decide to bring him back to the club. The Blaugrana need defensive reinforcements and they are lacking in depth.

Chelsea and Manchester United could use Todibo

Meanwhile the player has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United as well. Manchester United will need to replace players like Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, and Harry Maguire at the end of the season. Todibo would be a key player for them, and he has the physical and technical attributes to make an immediate impact in the Premier League.

As far as Chelsea are concerned, they need to start planning for life without Thiago Silva. The Brazilian is in his twilight years, and Chelsea need to replace him adequately. They will hope to sign the Nice defender at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen whether they can beat the competition from Manchester United and Barcelona.
